Note: Two house numbers separated by a /, (e.g. HNr 93/14) generally means that the villages houses were renumbered and thus both old and new numbers are given.
Legend of Some Terms Used in the Example
There is a "Legende" (Legend) included with each Familybook with German and English explanations of most abbreviations but a few terms are not translated. Here is a table of terms (both given in the Legende and not) and their meaning :

Note: At one time, these books were created by the Genealogischen Forschungsstelle der Galiziendeutschen, a part of the Hilfskomitee der Galiziendeutschen. Now the books are created by Manfred Daum in cooperation with the Hilfskomitee der Galiziendeutschen.
Galizien German Family Books
Galizien Village Family Books
The Galizien Village Family Books is a collection of families who are known to have been residents of a particular village. Each book focuses on a particular village. The Galiziendeutschen - Geschichte und Erinnerungskultur (The Galician Germans - History and Culture Remembered, formerly the Hilfskomitee) organization in Germany created these family books by transcribing births, deaths and marriages from original church records into family groups and then combining all the family groups in a village into a single village book. Here is an example of what a family group in one of the familybooks looks like (including an explanation of terms). Considering the long hours of time required to compile one of these village books the Hilfskomitee charges a very reasonable US$10.00 per village, including handling costs. These village family books are delivered by e-mailed docx computer files. These files are distributed by our secretary (
) on behalf of Manfred Daum of the Hilfskomitee.
